Unfortunately, I’m unable to attend the most interesting fashion show I’ve ever heard about but I am participating in a way. The Re-Modeled Gala is a runway show featuring planet-friendly bellydance costume designs, to support environmental awareness and conscious living, and to promote artistic recycling.

This past weekend I sewed for a couple of hours to help a friend who designed a costume for the all-recycling fashion show. I can’t show his complete design but I think it’s ok if I spoil just my part of it especially since he’s a featured designer and not going to be in competition for judging. It’s for a bellydance inspired outfit. I created a cape and waist sash out of old Superman bed sheets. The little jangles at the bottom are notebook binder rings.

Dancer models will each do a run-way walk and perform a short solo dance, displaying her costume as each artist describes his/her creation.
Judges will award prizes to artists. Prizes will be donated by local businesses.
Show and party will be DJ’d by Sunset til Sunrise (music: electronic, middle eastern, world mix).
Refreshment sale by the Vegan Goddess (food, drink and desserts)
