One of my favorite characters growing up was Firestar from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends on Saturday morning cartoons. Those dated sound effects and the Stan Lee narration are a comic book treasure. Angelica Jones was the quintessential Girl Next Door who just so happened to have radiation superpowers giving her power over fire which she used to help out her partners in crime fighting, Spider-Man and Iceman. The trio plotted out their battles in a secret room at Peter Parker’s Aunt May’s house. They were usually interrupted by the precocious pup, Miss Lion.
