by Ashley Neuhaus 29-FEB-2012 Like robots? What about monsters straight from your Greek mythology lessons? If you answered yes to these two questions then you should donate to the Kickstarter campaign to get ROBOT 13 printed in trade paperback form.
ROBOT 13 was previously released in all forms: digitally, single issues, and even collected in foreign languages. Now its creators, Daniel Bradford and Thomas Hall, need your help in making an English edition happen. Funding will go to producing a 100-page book that fixes printing errors and mistakes from the original run.
There are so many more comics out there than just what’s being put out by DC and Marvel. Bradford and Hall, who started Blacklist Studios, are dedicated to bringing you darker and edgier comics comparable to Mike Mignola’s BPRD.
With ROBOT 13, we’re presented with a hero who is a robot. He’s brought to the surface world by a fisherman and sets off on a journey to discover who he is. Along the way, he’s got to fight off some wicked monsters from Greek mythology. At the base of it all, I believe it’s a story we can all relate to. We all fight “monsters” to discover who we are and what we’re meant to do.
A short video is set up showing off some of Bradford’s awesome artwork. Also laid out on the Kickstarter page are some of the rewards that will be received. Some of those rewards include signed copies of the book, glow-in-the-dark t-shirts with the ROBOT 13 logo, original artwork, 1″ buttons, and more.
