AMBER LOVE 13-JULY-2014 This episode of VODKA O’CLOCK is two interviews from DEXCON mostly about Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. We covered some new changes to the D&D platform. Now you can take your character and campaign on the road by tracking it with the official Wizards of the Coast site. Bear in mind, these were recorded at a convention so there’s background chatter.

First up is Joseph Roa, one of my STAR WARS 501st friends. Joe explains about his collaborative group of friends that work through the campaigns as a team not a free-for-all. You can follow our local 501st on Twitter and Facebook.
Joe and I delve into some of the cosplay that goes on at Comic Fusion’s Superhero Weekend, our annual fundraiser for the domestic violence charity. This year it’s going to be October 4-5th. We’re starting to collect the sketches and prizes already. If you want to donate art to the auction or books and swag to the event, you can mail stuff to us:
Attn: SUPERHERO WEEKEND

And feel free to email me (amberlovescomics at gmail) or Stacy (stacy at comicfusion.com). We do have some criteria for artwork and costumes so it’s always best to ask if you have a doubt. Nothing with salacious, sexualized or graphically violent content.
Then of course… J.J. Abrams STAR TREK vs. TOS!
Joe shares a rundown of what it’s a year is like in the life of a 501st member. Faux-Spoiler: He doesn’t even dress up for Halloween after spending so much time in costumes.
The second guest is DAVE GUERRIERI is the lead admin for Greyhawk Reborn which uses the 5th Edition rules. Dave gives some solid information about the basics for 5th Edition. Dave has decades of experience playing D&D and I wanted to pick his brain about why it’s important to him. He shares the emotional connections that are built through groups of gamers.
