Costume: Claire Voyant the Black Widow (tutorial)
The tutorial/steps in my creation of a CLAIRE VOYANT the BLACK WIDOW costume.
This year I’m once again nervous yet honored to be making one of Jill Pantozzi’s costumes for Comic Con International at San Diego. This time Jill chose CYCLONE, a descendant of the classic character Ma Hunkel.
The tutorial/steps in my creation of a CLAIRE VOYANT the BLACK WIDOW costume.
The design has begun on this commission for a HUNTRESS costume which I’m only undertaking because it’s for a friend of mine. I’m responsible for the bodysuit and the cape.
MARCH, 2011 – I added MODESTY BLAISE to my list after reading a volume of the old strips which was published by Titan Books. The DEATH IN SLOW MOTION oversize paperback was my first exposure to the character which I heard about from my relentless best friend in blogging, Bunche (The Vault of Buncheness). I have often [...]
THE BIG BARDA COSTUME FOR Emm Kay IS FINISHED!!! Here are some Work In Progress (& Finished) pictures… That’s exactly a 4-month period of working on this.

DEC, 2010 – UD Replicas is one of the finest shops for pop culture props and costume replicas. Their work has garnered official licensing from Warner Bros. and Disney. The Dark Knight replicas were previously featured in one of my past Girls’ Entertainment Network articles and now it’s time for designer DAVID PEA to talk [...]
As of today’s work-in-progress pics, I have just the dress completed at the basic level; as I said it probably needs some tweaking. So that’s 6 hours of sewing today, Nov. 20, 2010. Tomorrow, the apron.
NOV, 2010 – I’m trying to start my winter projects for the 2011 comic convention season. First up is a new (yes, yet another) ALICE LIDDELL of Wonderland dress. The “sexy” babydoll dress in my photo gallery was actually the property of my photographer; the long traditional one in my Brooklyn shoot was one my [...]
